This course provides training for existing or new employees working in an industry sector that conducts activities in confined space. The course is designed for participants wishing to develop or improve skills in working in a confined space environment.

Supervise Work in Confined Spaces

Course Description:
This course provides training for existing employees working in an industry sector that conducts activities in confined space. There is an expectation that participants have at least 2 years’ experience working in a plumbing or construction industry sector (Water, telecommunications, or electrical) and that they have a solid understanding of workplace health and safety laws, policies and procedures necessary to work in their industry. The course is designed for participants wishing to develop or improve skills in working in and supervising groups in a confined space environment. Participants must have a solid understanding of the workplace health and safety laws, policies and procedures for their state or territory in their specific industry sector at least to AQF Level 2 as this is a foundation skill of all employees working in the target industry sectors. Evidence requirement of at least AQF Level 2 competency in WHS in the industry sector, or at least 2 years’ workplace validated experience. Participants with a completed apprenticeship in any of the building trades and have experience in working in confined spaces will qualify for this course.
